In Memory of
Writer/Actor/Musician,
Maxey Warren Bass (Max Warren)
1954-2019
The
Cholesterol
Cafe
and
the
character
JB
Tubbs,
with
his
colorful,
pitiful
group
of
friends,
are
from
the
mind
of
Maxey
Warren
Bass,
aka:
Max
Warren.
After
more
than
two
decades,
the
Cholesterol
Cafe
radio
comedy
bits
hold
up
as
nicely
as
"I
Love
Lucy"
or
"The
Carol
Burnett"
television
classics.
They're
still
funny
today;
a
true
testament
to
Maxey's
brilliantly
human,
and
uncomplicated
humorous
insights
into
the
weird
and
wacky world around us.
As
the
voice
of
JB,
Max
evokes
with
ease
the
spirit
and
multi-layered
quirks
of
an
extravagant,
rotund
proprietor
of
the
“world
famous”
Cholesterol
Cafe,
“where
we
cut
the
cheese,
thick
or
thin,
long
or
short,
just
for
you.”
Cholesterol
Cafe
was
created
in
1994
for
KICK-92-FM
and
the
series
of
22
episodes
aired
regularly
on
the
Jim
WW
Travis
&
Jo
Mamma
morning
drive in Austin, TX.
